An American Powder Horn

This rare documentary American powder horn relates to the 1812-1814 war between America and Britain.

Formed from a section of polished cow horn, it is decorated with scrimshaw work and inscribed "HF His horn, Made in Chazy May 4 1814. N-Y-S" and "Peace & Free Trade", "Death or Liberty". The initials are believed to be those of Henry Fowler, an ancestor of the previous owner.
